Description

Otter House resides on a family run farm near the beautiful Banffshire coastline and sleeps 2 adults with space for 2 children. With a wonderful loch side location it offers a great place to reconect with nature.

Inside you can delight at the handcrafted wooden interior. The living area has a gorgeous circular window feature, where you can enjoy sitting at the breakfast bar taking in the rural views. A wood burning stove not only keeps the house warm and cosy but allows you cook up a delicious meal. Be sure to pop your favourite beverage in the mini 12v fridge and if you wish to stay connected to the outside world then you can make use of the phone charging portal and good 4G signal. A separate bedroom area comes with a double bed with single bunk above and room for an additional day bed. A rustic shower room with WC and sink completes the house.

Outside you can cook up a storm on the BBQ or double gas ring and dine al fresco at the picnic bench. A covered decked area is the ideal place to sit with your morning cuppa or evening tipple. After devouring a delicious meal you can sit back on the bench and put the world to rights.

Locally there is lots to explore with walking, cycling and wild swimming all available on your doorstep. Peaky Blinders fans will enjoy a trip to Portsoy Harbour, where much of the filming took place, whilst those who favour a tipple or two, will love tours of the numerous local distilleries. Alternatively take a day trip to the stunning Cairngorms, the largest National Park in the UK. Here you can enjoy walking, cycling, playing golf, visiting castles and even a bungee jump! Once back on site, book into the sauna for a relaxing treat.

Children welcome. Up to 2 dogs welcome at an additional cost of £15 each per stay.

Eco Credentials:

Much of the site is built from recycled wood with many of the fixtures and fittings being recycled items - this includes windows, doors, cooking utensils, furniture, crockery, rugs, drapes etc. There is a hand-built water wheel which, together with solar panels, generates the 12V electricity supply. Set on a working farm, the owner has planted miles of hedgerows and trees as well as digging five small lochs, to show that nature and agriculture can happily co-exist.
