Situated in the centre of the large village of Polesworth, North Warwickshire, but close to the border of several counties - Staffordshire, Leicestershire and Derbyshire - these 2 cottages are located in a medieval gatehouse at the entrance to Polesworth Abbey which dates back to the 9th century. They have been lovingly restored to their original use and furnished and decorated to retain character and charm. Both have antique furniture in keeping with the age of the cottages.

Guests are able to visit the original porter's office and his family's meagrre quarters to learn about its connection with William Shakespeare. You can also enjoy walks around the abbey's grounds. Nearby other activities are on offer - horseriding, fishing, good golf courses, water and theme parks and Statford-upon-Avon is within easy reach.

The cottages occupy the first and second floor of one side of the medieval gatehouse, extending across the arches entrance way. This cottage sleeps 2 with a charming double galleied bedroom with exposed beams and luxury bathroom with freestanding bath. There is also a 3-bay chamber providing open plan living accommodation including fitted kitchen, dining area and sitting area with original stone fireplace and warming woodburner.
