Raven's Retreat is a shepherd's hut built by the owners themselves! The hut offers people a break with their dogs in a beautiful position next to a Woodland Trust wood. Peace and quiet are guaranteed with all the facilities you could want whilst "glamping".

This is suitable for a couple or 2 adults plus 1 child over 8 and a dog, or 2 dogs if no child.

A Log Cabin can provide extra accommodation for those who wish to bring family/friends to Raven's Retreat - with the agreement of the owner at the point of booking.

Wales and more specifically this area of Wales is composed of breathtaking landscapes, idyllic hideaways and wonderful places to explore. As well as annual and seasonal festivals and activities to attend, there are various special places crafted by nature to visit all year round. For example, the many nature reserves, Elan Valley, waterfalls (such as Devils Bridge near Aberystwyth (featured in Hinterland), and Pistyll Rhaeadr waterfall in the Berwyn mountains. Plus, you can visit places such as the Silver Mountain Mines and participate in activities at Nantyrarian near Aberystwyth.

A special feature of the hut, that ensures guests comfort and ease is having your own bathroom attached to the hut via the veranda, this means that no matter what the weather is doing, you will be sheltered. The well-insulated shepherd's hut has a log burning stove (logs and kindling are provided), a pull out double bed and space for a single mattress. The bathroom has a Villa compost toilet (meaning that it is odourless), a shower/bath and heated towel rail. While the fully equipped kitchenette area has a microwave/grill, fridge, toaster, hob and kettle.

There's a stream running by which you can watch from the veranda (which goes around both sides of the hut) and you can sit in the quirky garden or wander in the meadow. Try the pizza oven for a delicious treat. It fits on top of the BBQ so is easy and practical for all to use.

Onsite parking for 2 vehicles. WIFI is provided. There is no mobile signal in the area however, walkie-talkies can be provided by the owners so you can keep in touch. Breakfast hampers are available (with a choice of menus) that can be delivered to your door. If you are looking to eat out then The Red Lion pub is dog friendly and only about 6 miles away in Llanidloes. There are also many cafes and restaurants here, including two Indian restaurants.

The cost of the accommodation comes with a number of free treats for you and your pet including tea and coffee and biscuits, dog biscuits, a dog treat toy, WiFi, wood logs and electricity.

Should you wish to bring a child (to a total number of guests of 3) then there is an extra fee of £7.50 per night. No children under 8 (although a babe in arms is possible without charge.)

Breakfast hampers available at £7 per person and dogs welcome at the cost of £15 for one, £20 for 2 per stay.

To help reduce the carbon footprint of your stay and reduce the call on our well, bedding & towels are not included within the quoted price, if you wish to add bedding/towels to your booking there will be an additional cost of £10 per person.
