Located in the heart of Burgundy on 5.5 hectares of land and water, Rix Mill, built in 1743, pre-dates the French Revolution and combines the beautiful architecture of the era with a fully refurbished, high specfication interior and the latest high-speed internet communications.

Your hosts, having spent many years as expats in Switzerland and the UK, have returned to France. Their primary goal is to make your stay thoroughly enjoyable by either giving you a truly French experience, with home-cooked meals, welcoming you into their home as guests, or leaving you to enjoy the tranquility.

Optional private yoga sessions are also offered several mornings a week at certain times of the year. Please enquire for full details.

Rix Mill is part of the 200 inhabitants Rix village, just 3kms from the medieval town of Clamecy and 2 hours south of Paris. A collection/return service can be arranged from Roissy and Orly airports.

There are 2 double bedrooms in an independent cottage suitable for up to 4 people. Weekly rates start at €850. For stays shorter than one week prices start at €121 per night, with a minimum 2 night stay. For the True French Experience (open to up to 9 people) or business people, or for different durations please get in touch. Even on the basic 'gite' package Yves and Christine share a welcome drink and dinner with their guests.

Children are welcome but please realise that there is a lot of water around the property which may make it unsafe for smaller ones. Use of an inflatable boat or fishing are means of enjoying the 1km of river. NO PETS please as there is a cat, and sheep in a nearby field. Minimum stay 2 nights.

It is possible to fly into Rix by making use of an airstrip and hangar available to the owner's of Rix Water Mill.
