Description

Gorgeous rural bothy with wood fired hot tub offering a romantic retreat for 2 at the Port of Menteith, in The Trossachs near Stirling.

The Bothy stands alone in its own private area with stunning views over the Menteith hills. Here you can totally unwind, relax and listen to the sound of nature around you from the comfort of your terrace area, front or back, with your favourite cuppa or tipple in hand. Discover the luxury of a wood fired hot tub on your deck; watch the sun go down or lie back and soak up the star lit sky.

The open plan cabin contains a dining area, kitchen and a spacious living area with a huge wood burner in the centre of the room. Up the stairs to the mezzanine floor you'll find a cosy king size bed with magnificent designer headboard, luxury soft furnishings, a retro storage chest and a little window through which you can enjoy the star lit nights. Sumptous bed linen and fluffy towels are provided for you. Twinkling candle lanterns and the glow from the wood burner ensure the perfect ambience.

The Bothy has an eco toilet and an electric shower in separate rooms which are accessed from the rear deck. It is supplied with planet friendly Faith in Nature body wash, shampoo and rose and geranium handwash. Ecover cleaning essentials are also provided. There are two sinks at The Bothy with both hot and cold water, one is in the kitchen and the other is in the shower room.

Choose to cook inside in the oven which is an integral part of the wood burning stove, the SAGE mini oven or on the double hob in the kitchen. If you fancy cooking outside then there is a portable BBQ or go rustic and use the grill over the Hikki fire pit.

Take a night off and order something from the hugely popular 'dine in' menu; enquire when booking about the homecooked menu including a venison casserole, beef chilli as well as a good variety of vegetarian/vegan options! Be sure to finish this off with a delicious fruit crumble, made with fruit from the orchard when it's in season, with Artisan Ice cream ! We will deliver your food to you or find it in The Bothy on arrival. Guests can then heat and serve their meal whenever they choose. You'll arrive to a welcome hamper containing some lovely treats as well as essentials for your stay such as fair-trade tea, fresh coffee and the new retro fridge is perfect for storing fresh produce - there's even an ice box.

There is incredible hiking direct from The Bothy door where you can see some of the best mountain views of the Trossachs. On your hikes from The Bothy look out for wildlife such as red deer, roe deer, red squirrels, Osprey in Summer, a variety of birds of prey and black grouse. On a warm sunny day dip your feet in the ice cold water of the stream, running behind The Bothy, to cool down or why not have a dip? On the topic of dips, there are various locations within walking distance for plunging into cold water not to mention the lochs nearby which are ideal for wild swimming.

Your experience at The Bothy will be one that you will never forget.
