Snuggle up in The Famous Five, a bowtop gypsy caravan which was once used in the TV series of Enid Blyton's Famous Five, set on a private cider apple orchard in the stunning Somerset countryside.

The Famous Five sleeps 2 adults in a double bed plus a young child in the "underbunk" , with a vintage caravan available with space for an additional 3 people (2 adults & 1 child).

Cooking is usually done outside on the campfire where wood and firelighters are provided. If preferred however you can cook in the vintage caravan with hob, oven, fridge, sink and heating. The private bathroom with hot shower is located in a shepherd's hut in the same meadow as The Famous Five.

The Famous Five, has been lovingly restored and is nestled in the tranquillity of a wildflower meadow overlooking the Somerset Levels. Sit quietly absorbing your surroundings and you may be lucky enough to spot a badger snuffling about or the resident Barn owl hunting in the field. Your only neighbours are sheep and Blacki & Tango, two much loved ponies. Be mesmerised by the flicker of flames on the fire or go for a stroll and see what wildlife is around. Often you will see cranes out on the Levels or spot a deer gliding across the fields. The peace of this place will flow into you.

If your party has more people the owner is very accommodating about bringing tents or providing a tent. Often families of 4 all snuggle up in the gypsy caravan together. Again the owner is happy to provide extra mattresses and bedding. Also located on site is Ruby the Gypsy Caravan which can be rented along with The Famous Five if you are a party of two families. Otherwise no group bookings / party nights.

Bed linen, utensils, cutlery and crockery are provided.

Children welcome.

1 well behaved dog is welcome at £10 per stay, the dog is not to sleep in the wagon, there are other places for the dog to comfortably sleep.

Available for short stays, weekends and long holidays. Single night stays permitted Sunday - Thursday. Minimum two night stay at weekends, 3 night minimum stay over bank holidays with Friday arrival.

Closed season October to March.
