Description

Stunning fairytale style castle in Selkirk comes complete with a unique stylish interior thanks to the artistic owners who have blessed this property with love and flamboyance. Sleeping up to 8 guests it is ideal for couples or families wishing to holiday together.

From the minute you see the property the aptly named Five Turrets will blow you away. It's distinctive and historic exterior (built in 1870) belies the incredibly modern and colourful interior that is hidden inside. The front door opens onto an entrance room and gallery where you can see many photographs of the weaving business that the family owns and examples of that you will see displayed throughout the house. This leads to a stunning triple height open plan living area with contemporary kitchen with breakfast bar, comfy sofas that sit around a wood burning stove and a large dining table with views over the beautiful countryside. Climb the stairs to the mezzanine level and here you can relax and enjoy the library area, put on the smart TV or simply connect to the superfast broadband.

There are 4 bedrooms in the house, Ettrick sits on the ground floor and can be set up as a kingsize or twin and is ideal for those who have limited mobility. The other 3 bedrooms are on the first floor and have a king/twin bed formation, king bed formation and double bed formation. Choose Tweed for its views of the turrets, Yarrow for its own private turret or Teviot for its view of the hills. There are 2 bathrooms in the castle, a ground floor with large walk in shower and an upstairs one with deep bathtub and shower over the top.

Outside the property you can relax in your private back garden where there is a large table for 8 to enjoy dining al fresco. Of a morning, pop out to the front garden, where you can find a small bistro table and chair set, the perfect place to take your morning cuppa.

If you wish to add extra treats to your stay then don't hesitate to book a personal chef, arrange a gin tasting session, try paddleboarding on a loch or hiking with alpacas.

There is so much to do in the area that you will be spoilt for choice. From adventurous days out trying zip wires and tree top adventures to a more relaxed steam train trip, young and old will love this fantastic location. Edinburgh itself is just over an hour away and offers a multitude of activities for all ages. Alternatively take a stroll at the beautiful Pentland Hills Regional Park where you can find a range of pathways including a circular woodland route with biodiversity trail for children to follow.

There is a minimum 3 night stay with any day arrival. Children welcome, but please be aware that some parts are not suitable for toddlers. No pets.
