The Funky Dodo Backpackers Hostel is located right in the centre of the original Garifuna village of Hopkins on the Caribbean coast of Belize. There is a swimming pool and a treetop bar under a Mayan thatched roof where a selection of drinks as well as breakfast and bar food are served at backpacker prices.

Funky Dodo offers comfortable budget accommodation in the spacious 14 bed dormitory in full size single bunk beds and we have 7 private rooms that accommodate from 1 to 4 people with either shared bathrooms or ensuite.

There is free high speed Wi-Fi everywhere on the property and a cool shaded sandy yard where you can relax and chill out by the swimming pool. Hammocks and plenty of seating are provided plus a well-equipped kitchen free to use and plenty of new clean bathrooms around the place.

The Funky Dodo has a tour desk from where you can book trips and will be able to get out there and see the sights for the best prices in town.

The beach, cafes, a supermarket, a bar/restaurant and an internet cafe are all close by. And a 5 minute walk will take you to several more bars, restaurants and shops. Hopkins is good for water sports, wild life, nature reserves and Garifuna culture.
