The Iron Chapel is a locally listed building sleeping up to 6 people in Clara Vale, outside of the city of Newcastle. It is in a peaceful conversation area near a golf course and the River Tyne, Hadrian's wall - and within reach of local pubs and eateries. An authentically restored place to stay - the owners have gone to a great deal of effort to make this historic chapel for guests a special one, adding quirky features throughout.

It is incredibly rare, it is believed there are less than 120 of them left in the country. The chapel has been fully restored from the ground up to form part holiday rental and part home - the owners live in the large stone church next door. They are therefore able to greet you in most instances, to show you around your holiday base and explain what the building is about if you wish.

The interior has been fitted out to be as close to its original finish as possible - so you will feel like you are deep within a beautiful 19th Century space, with timber clad walls and heavy timber floors. The doors are all relocated original church and vestry doors.

You will have full use of the Chapel's 3 double bedrooms, lounge/kitchen/dining room, two toilets, bath and shower. Bedroom 3 is small with a 4ft double bed. There is a WiFi, TV, washer/dryer and bedding and towels are provided. The property is insulated and heated so will be cosy, plus there is a woodburner for extra warmth or romance if needed.

There is 1 private parking space off street which is just for guests - and another car space can be arranged in advance of arrival. There is an outside gravelled area attached to the chapel.

No smoking. Not recommended for infants under 2 due to uneven floors and a woodburner. Dogs welcome on request but must stay on a lead when outside the property due to the owner having cats. Free wifi.

2 night minimum stay.
