Description

Glamping site near the Welsh border that offers a plethora of different properties affiliated with nature and being at one with the world. The Rising Sun offers a romantic retreat for 2 with outdoor bathtub, their take on a hot tub!

The Rising Sun is a gorgeous cabin with stained glass windows, four poster bed, outside dining area and many enchanting pieces that will hold you in delight. Inside is a treasure hunters heaven with many pieces being found in antique shops and auctions available for you to behold. The warmth of the reds and oranges of the cabin will delight your senses, making you feel loved and safe and the warmth of the log burner will keep you toasty even on the coldest of days. There are simple kitchen facilities, 2 gas hobs and a grill for making a light meal.

Outside you can find a claw-foot bathtub on the deck, perfect for relaxing in whilst listening to the bird song around you. A walkway cleverly links the bathroom to the cabin and to a cute washing up area.

Locally you can walk the famous Offa's Dyke Path, visit the Small Breeds Farm Park and Owl Centre or take a trip to the literary Hay-on-Wye. Here you can drive up to the Bluff, only 8 minutes from Hay, to the top of the Black Mountains with breath taking views and walks. Alternatively take to the water and try your hand at canoeing - a fun and unique experience for everyone. The Warren is a riverside beach accessible from Hay-on-Wye, with its expanse of fields along the River Wye. Food buffs will enjoy a delicious meal at Rhydspence Inn which is just a 40 minute stroll away through the country lanes, the perfect way to work up an appetite.

Should the temperatures drop below freezing point, it is most likely that there will be no water from taps, in that case the owner will top all outdoor tubs with water ahead of freezing, and provide drinking water in glass bottles and fill thermoses from the house tap (drinking water), and you can heat up water to wash up on stoves. However this is an extreme scenario which has not happened in recent years.

There is a Wood fired Norwegian Sauna on site, this can be fired on request for £10 each session of 1 hour, for each group of people...... this is proving very popular and what better way to celebrate!!!

Dogs welcome for a charge of £20. Strictly no puppies.

The first basket of wood will be provided, the ones after £7 each, you're very welcome to bring your own. IF you want to have an outdoor fire, where possible, please provide your own wood for fire pits.

No loud music.

Closed in winter.

There is a minimum 3 night stay.
