Set in subtropical gardens, forest and woodland next to the peaceful Hokianga Harbour. The Tree House provides hostel and cabin accommodation for the independent traveller, bicycle tourist or backpacker travelling on Northland's Twin Coast Discovery Highway linking Cape Reinga and the Waipoua Kauri forest.

Stay in your own cabin, or a shared room in the owner-built wooden homestead. Sleep in a tent in the camping ground or stay in the waterfront holiday house in Kohukohu. The hilltop cabin has 2 rooms and can sleep 2-6 guests. Prices start at $32pp for a cabin or dorm, and $20pp for camping.

Located near the Hokianga Car Ferry and the heritage precincts of Kohukohu and Rawene, The Tree House is an ideal base from which to explore west coast kauri forests and beaches, art galleries, cafes and historic places—while only an hour's drive from Kerikeri in the Bay of Islands. The Tree House is the closest BBH accommodation to Mitimiti Beach, Motuti Marae and Panguru.

The Tree House can accommodate groups of up to 15 people.
