Description
Tyr Pwll Cottage dates back to the 13th century, said to be the oldest house in Monmouthshire, with plenty of period features such as exposed beams, a lovely large stone fireplace & oak timbered wall. The cottage is the perfect base with plenty to explore in the local area, making this an ideal getaway for both families & couples.
On the ground floor of the cottage is a cosy sitting room with tv and a lovely large stone fireplace to keep you warm & cosy, a fully equipped kitchen with dining area with seating for 4 people. There is also a cloakroom with WC, basin & washing machine on this floor. Upstairs are the spacious bedrooms plus family bathroom with bath and shower over, the family room has a king-size bed and two singles, and the second bedroom also has a king-size bed.
Please note some of the flooring is uneven and the staircase leading upstairs is very old & narrow with uneven treads, please take care especially with young children.
Outside there is a large lawned garden with a lovely patio area with outdoor furniture, an ideal spot to sit back & take in the stunning coutryside views. There are pathways throughout the garden for exploring the grounds and a further two private patio areas plus an orchard for you to explore. The driveway and remainder of the 2 1/2 acre garden is shared with the owners who encourage you to enjoy this space.
Whilst WiFi is provided, the bandwidth is variable and cannot be relied upon due to the rural location.
Tyr Pwll Cottage is located near the rural village of Raglan which features an idyllic 15th century castle. The village has everything you need including a chemist, butchers, supermarket and fish & chip shop. Enjoy the great outdoors with easy access to both Brecon Beacons National Park and the Wye Valley Area Of Natural Beauty.
