At Whitby Lighthouse on the East Coast near the North Yorkshire Moors is Vanguard, a self-catering accommodation on high cliffs just outside Whitby with space for 5 guests. From the property there are spectacular sea views and beaches are within easy reach.

The cottage is all on one floor and has a modern fully equipped kitchen with dining area where you can enjoy beautiful sea views from the window whilst you eat. The bright living area with sea views has a lovely electric 'woodburner effect' fire where you can sit & relax with the TV/DVD. The cottage houses 3 bedrooms, there is a double bedroom with sea views as well as a calming twin bedroom and single room. There is also a bathroom & separate shower room.

Outside you can relax in the large walled garden looking out to sea furnished with outdoor seating to enjoy al fresco dining or to simply sit back & relax with a good book or simply listen to the sounds of the coast.

Whitby is a great place, and nearby Sandsend and Robin Hood's Bay, to enjoy the Yorkshire coast. To the south of Vanguard are the coastal villages and resorts of Scarborough, Filey and Bridlington. Inland is the heather moorlands of the North Yorkshire Moors and York. Plus there is the chance to visit Yorkshire Esk, one of the most prolific sea trout rivers in England and the only salmon river between London and the Tees.

Ample parking. Up to 2 well behaved dogs are welcome for a small additional charge. No smoking. Travel cot and highchair available.

Guests should be aware that the lighthouses and equipment need regular and sometimes emergency maintenance. Therefore visits by maintenance staff may occur at any time during the year. However, staff will do their best to ensure guest privacy at all times.

Minimum of a 3 night stay. 7 night minimum stay during the July & August when there is a Saturday changeover day.
