Description

From the moment you enter The Walpole Bay Hotel in Margate, you will step back in time to the ambience of a bygone era. With spacious lounges, a flower decked verandah, Edwardian restaurant and 1920s ballroom, and the 1927 trellis-gated lift serving all 5 floors as a centrepiece to the 'Living Museum'. There are display cabinets full of interesting objects and there is an exhibition of 19th and 20th century glass, and the original toaster and 2 gas lamps from the period can also be seen.

Visit the Edwardian restaurant for tasty meals, cream tea and listen to the resident pianist playing the 1908 pianola during Traditional Sunday Luncheons.

There are 33 rooms, some with 4 poster beds and many with balconies and all en-suite. The hotel offers 24 hour reception, room service and internet access in public areas.
