Description

At Haughton Castle is the White Lodge, a Grade l listed building dating back to 1260 with space for 4 guests. The lodge overlooks farmland and North Tyne below while facing beautiful parkland.

On the ground floor you can find the living room containing a stone fireplace with wood burning stove, perfect for lazing about with a good book. A spacious bright kitchen/dining area with utility room offers all the mod cons you could need for a delicious meal. Moving up to the first floor is large double bedroom with king sized bed & a twin bedroom. The bathroom can also be found on this floor which has a shower attachment over the bath. There is an additional modern WC outside.

Outside the back door there is a garden table and chairs perfect for some al fresco dining within this stunning scenery. There is also a garden bench on another paved area that overlooks both the garden and the Humshaugh Burn.

Guests have access to the estate land which includes 2 miles of the beautiful North Tyne river to walk along and with arrangement with the owners, access to the tennis court & fishing. Please avoid the areas marked 'Private' in front of the castle. The Castle is not open to the public, however the owner is happy to show guests around, subject to it being practicable at the time.

The 12th century Abbey within the historic market town of Hexham is just 5.5 miles from the property and Hadrians Wall is just a 5 minute drive away. Golf is available nearby at various clubs such as Bellingham, Slaley & Hexham for sports fan whilst historians will enjoy a wide range of Historic houses within the area such as Cragside, Rothbury, Wallington Hall, Morpeth & Bamburgh Castle.

One well behaved dog is welcome at a small additional charge. No smoking. Free parking. Children must be over the age of 10, please note there is an unfenced stream in the garden. A baby in own moses basket is welcome.
