Description

Woodman's Wagon Treehouse is a quirky eco-treehouse set in it's own 8 acre ancient woodland, perfect for a totally unique escape from the modern world for 2 adults. With stunning views from the sun deck out through the canopy of the trees and right out to sea at Exmouth in the distance. Located just outside within the little Devon village of Kenn, it's a perfect romantic retreat .

Imagine having a beautiful English, broadleaved woodland all to yourself with total privacy away from the hassles of everyday life. Think of the freedom - watching wildlife, lighting a fire and just getting back to basics - quite simply magic! There is no light pollution - just star gazing and spending quality time with your loved one.

Woodman's Wagon Treehouse is a truly unique hand-crafted treehouse set all on its own in a woodland full of wildlife. The treehouse is accessed via a small bridge and there are double doors opening out onto a large sun deck area. This is a lovely area to laze in the sunshine, or sit round the Indian fire bowl (& BBQ) with stunning views through the treetops and out to sea.

The hand-crafted interior features a unique king size bed, comfy sofa looking out through the French Doors. There's a galley kitchen with gas rings, a proper wood burning stove you can cook on too. All cooking equipment provided and there are even fresh herbs growing outside. The spacious bathroom also has a bath with a view and hot water for the bath is heated by a wood burner. There is an outside shower too, for those of you who are happy to get back to nature! There are views through the treetops from both the bed and bath.

Woodman's Wagon Treehouse is off-grid, so there's a gas-powered fridge and battery-powered lighting. The owners try to be as sustainable as possible, most of the treehouse being built from recycled materials. Its base is an old wagon chassis & the timber is mostly chestnut coppice grown only 200 meters away. Woodman's Wagon aims to welcome disabled visitors - but do please enquire if you have special needs. This truly is the perfect retreat for couples to take a break from modern life and get back to 'the good old days'.

The Wood Life is neatly located in the middle of Devon, just outside Exeter. The quaint little village of Kenn has a beautiful thatched pub, one of the oldest Yew trees in the country and a little river which runs out into the River Exe Estuary, a haven for wildlife and an internationally important conservation area. Kenn is under 5 miles from the historic Cathedral City of Exeter, tucked under the impressive Haldon Forest Park (full of walking and cycling trails) and only five miles from the beach at Dawlish Warren National Nature Reserve in one direction and Dartmoor National Park in the other.

Sorry, no pets at Woodman's Wagon Treehouse, but there is so much wildlife - badgers, deer, owls, woodpeckers, buzzards, foxes and lots of butterflies and bluebells in May.

Woodman's Wagon Treehouse is priced from £180-£220 per night with a 4 night stay from a Monday and a 3 night stay from a Friday. Weekly stays available with Monday and Friday arrivals. Open to guests late March to end of October.
