Day 42 of The Quirky Tour and Jess and Dom visited Elham Treehouse in Kent, England.

Find out more about their stay:

First Impression:

I love the simplistic feel of this treehouse - no airs and graces - but totally charming.

Note that although there is a chemical loo when you climb down the stairs to ground level, you would need to take a shower in the main house a stroll away.

Unfortunately owner Mark whom we have worked with since 2021 was away during our visit but we were shown around by the friendly Zlatka.

The Accommodation:

On the ground level find the loo and outdoor seating around a firepit and BBQ.

You have your own private space - fields to one side and the owner’s lovely grounds to the other.

Climb the stairs to reach the treehouse supported by 3 oak trees. Inside is a comfortable double bed, seating, heater, and cooking facilities.

Food and Drink:

You are given a few cereal options for breakfast and you receive a lovely freshly baked loaf in the morning.

You can cook simple meals here if you don’t want to go out. Bring supplies with you or pick up things at the Elham store.

In the local village there are 3 pubs - Rose & Crown, Abbot’s Fireside and The Kings Arms - that all serve food.

Jess' top tip:

This is a gorgeous area and the owner’s house and gardens are stunning. There is a resident cat with white socked feet!

Just a stroll down the lane there is access to Park Gate Down - you can enter and walk in either direction in lovely scenery with some animals too.

We had to pass horned cows who seemed - thankfully - uninterested in us!
