Day 24 of The Quirky Tour and Jess and Dom enjoyed a visit to Howgill Lodge in North Yorkshire.
Find out more about their visit:
First Impression:
I was struck immediately by the dramatic landscape - with views over the North Yorkshire Moors - and the 4 lodges each create wonderful spaces from which to enjoy it.
Lovely to meet Jo onsite, and the team with whom we have worked with since 2019 and to see the sites development, enjoying returning guests time and time again.
The Accommodation:
The interior designer has kept on theme with each of the lodges names. So each is decorated individually but all blend colour with unique features and create a warm space to relax in.
There is a lounge with outlook, dining and kitchen to one end and a double bedroom, shower room and twin bedroom to the other.
These lodges offer a great base for exploring this beautiful area and would suit a couple or family break.
Food and Drink:
The lodges are self catering with a fully equipped kitchen. Outside you have your own fire pit with cooking grill and internal pizza oven - great fun for all ages.
There is a coffee shop on site that sells barista made coffee, freshly baked pastries and delicious hot chocolate as well as a general shop that sells any essentials you may have forgotten.
If you fancy eating out then there are two pubs in the local area - The Cravens Arms and The New Inn, both about a 30 minute walk away.
Jess' top tip:
There is so much to do in this area. We enjoyed a walk by the famous ruins of Bolton Abbey where we saw the stepping stones.
They are currently in need of repair so it is not possible to cross on them, but there is a bridge alongside so you can take in the whole stunning scene.
