Day 4 of The Quirky Tour and Jess and Dom enjoyed a visit to Long Barrow Windmill in Devon.

Find out more about their visit:

First Impression:

We loved the location as there are no neighbours and the windmill on entry takes you into a charming all purpose living space.

The Accommodation:

You enter the windmill and come into a well equipped kitchen diner with 2 seater sofa. This is a great place to relax with a cuppa whilst planning your day.

Up to the first floor and you can discover the lovely double bedroom with great views. Climb the stairs to the second floor and take in the large bathroom with bathtub with shower above.

Finally up some steep paddle stairs to the viewing room, which has almost 360º views of the surrounding fields and woodland, plus glimpses of the coast on a clear day.

It was so lovely to finally meet owners Vince and Sue with whom we have worked with since 2015 on this long established business and who gave us a really warm welcome!

Food and Drink:

The owners leave a drink for you - either cider or wine to welcome you to the windmill.

The property is self catering so be sure to bring all food with you, or head to Torquay just 5 miles away for some delicious fish and chips.

Jess' top tip:

Bring your hiking boots and head out to Dartmoor for a walk before stopping off for a delicious refreshing drink at one of the many local inns.
